ASUS Unlock Bootloader per Eee Pad Transformer Prime: è ufficiale e disponibile

Come promesso, ASUS rilascia il tool per sbloccare il bootloader di Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Con questo è possibile modificare il programma che regola il sistema operativo da avviare all’accensione, quindi installare altre versioni di Android, firmware personalizzati o distribuzioni Linux compatibili con ARM.

Al 90% di chi possiede il tablet 10 pollici ASUS non interesserà modificare il bootloader, ma per i restanti questo aprirà tantissime possibilità di personalizzazione, oltre che il semplice piacere di potere programmare il proprio hardware (quello che si è pagato) a proprio piacimento.

C’è chi ha già pensato ad installare Ubuntu su Transformer Prime e postare le prime immagini su twitter; non funziona ancora tutto, neanche il touchscreen, ma è un modo per dimostrare che si possono installare altri sistemi e che il tool funziona. A tal proposito, lo strumento ASUS è compatibile solo con macchine dotate di Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich, non con quelle ancora ferme ad Honeycomb; per noi italiani non dovrebbe essere un problema, ma è bene saperlo prima di mettersi al lavoro.
